Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
Every year, the Fibromyalgia Association brings our community together for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day—a day to learn, connect, and help more people understand what it means to live with fibromyalgia.
Our events bring together people living with fibromyalgia, loved ones, healthcare professionals, researchers, and other experts to talk about what matters to our community—from new research and treatments to practical ways to manage symptoms and live well.
25 Years of Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
We have been recognizing Fibromyalgia Awareness Day since 2001. What began as an in-person event in Michigan now reaches people across the United States and beyond.
We’re proud of how far the fibromyalgia community has come—and committed to the work that still needs to be done.
We hope you will join us for Awareness Day 2027. Stay tuned by joining our email list.

Closing the Gap Between Research and Relief
For our 25th Annual Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, we partnered with award-winning Speed Bump cartoonist Dave Coverly to shine a light on a frustrating reality: it can take 17 years for important research findings to make their way into everyday healthcare.
Dave's witty cartoon highlights a serious issue—the gap between research discoveries and real relief for patients. Funny—but painfully true.
The cartoon was later featured in Dave's nationally syndicated Speed Bump comic, bringing this message about fibromyalgia to readers across the country. Dave also has a personal connection to fibromyalgia through his wife, Chris.
